An exciting journey through the English countryside awaits!
This road trip has been long anticipated!
1. Background
Initially, when embarking on our travel experiences (well before we began documenting them), my focus was primarily on discovering new international destinations. While this remains rewarding, frequent travel often fosters a deeper appreciation for local marvels, particularly when residing in a locale as picturesque as the UK.
Experiences with the cathedrals of France, the architecture of Italy, and the rich history of Spain further enhance our perspective upon returning home (the UK features remarkable attractions!). Notably, sites such as St Paul’s Cathedral and various iconic locations in London take on new significance. Even the Royal Mile in Edinburgh transforms from a mere thoroughfare into an area worth exploring. Similarly, Bristol reveals itself as an artistic haven, while stunning islands within the UK rival those in the Caribbean!
2. The Road Trip Plan
Our intention is to drive through Southern England without a rigid itinerary. We aim to be spontaneous, allowing us to explore and genuinely appreciate the various facets of the English countryside.
Currently, we have identified our primary stops along our route (details below). During our travels, we may visit Stonehenge or the charming villages in the Cotswolds on one day, while opting for a leisurely day in a country pub the next, indulging in tea and literature beside a warm fireplace. This flexibility is the essence of our journey, and we are thrilled to embark on it!

Our journey will initiate in London, with a stop in Bath,
continuing through the Cotswolds,
…before heading to Oxford (and broader Oxfordshire).
