36 Hours In Lisbon, Portugal

A return to Lisbon was a well-anticipated event. It is a city that seamlessly captivates, making one feel truly at home. Consequently, we set off to Portugal, this time enjoying a stay at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Ritz, instead of our previous artists’ apartment.

Accommodation at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz

When staying at any Four Seasons property, expectations are notably elevated, and the Lisbon location does not disappoint. The experience begins the moment you hand your keys to the valet, allowing you to unwind instantly.

Upon entering your room, the sight of exquisite Portuguese delicacies awaiting you indicates the delightful evening that lies ahead.

Dining Experience

As dinner was a priority, we descended to the hotel’s restaurant for a delightful meal around 10 PM, followed by a relaxing evening of wine tasting in our room.

Exploring Lisbon

After a refreshing night’s rest, breakfast at the renowned Varanda restaurant awaited us, complemented by the ambiance of live piano music.

Following breakfast, we ventured out to appreciate the various sights Lisbon has to offer, starting with the impressive Padrao dos Descobrimentos near the river.

Our exploration continued to the Almada area, where we visited the iconic Belem Tower. Subsequently, we enjoyed a convenient lunch at a restaurant near our previous visit site.

Later, we appreciated the splendid architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery. Regrettably, our timing was poor as we discovered it was closed. Nonetheless, we captured wonderful memories outside and anticipated our next visit.

Our culinary journey continued with a delightful experience at Pasteis de Belem, known for its renowned Portuguese custard tarts. Unsurprisingly, these lived up to their reputation, making our afternoon even sweeter.

After a leisurely afternoon wandering the charming streets and shopping for mementos, we returned to the Four Seasons to unwind by the pool.

Conclusion and Future Plans

This brief stay in Lisbon—especially at the Four Seasons—served as the perfect introduction to our holiday. We were well-rested, indulged in exquisite cuisine, and filled with anticipation for the continuing adventure throughout Portugal.
