Introduction
Sometimes it’s easy to forget what’s right on our doorstep – especially when there are so many beautiful and world-renowned historic sites that are only a stone’s throw away!
We’re fortunate to have numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland… from the unique City of Bath, the ancient Stonehenge to the natural beauty of Giant’s Causeway, there’s a diversity in our islands that sometimes slips our minds, and truthfully, there’s no excuse.
I remember feeling as if I was always on a quest to discover that far-flung, unique place thousands of miles from home. The distance made seeing whatever sight it was feel that much more special compared to something right at my doorstep.
Through my travels, I’ve learned that our beautiful sites are just as precious as those in faraway lands.
Recently, Yaya and I decided to embark on an epic road trip across Southern England… and it was absolutely fun! We packed multiple stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites into our itinerary, fueling our desire to explore every nook and cranny of the UK and Ireland—an adventure we fully intend to pursue ASAP!
UNESCO World Heritage Sites
In light of this, I’ve compiled a definitive list of every UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UK and Ireland, all of which can easily be included in any trip to (and around) these regions, given enough time, of course.
