As it was my birthday, a leisurely lie-in felt not only deserved, but also a fitting occasion to experience the 24-hour breakfast service. After some gentle stretching, I prepared myself and sought out our dedicated in-residence chef, who promptly began to prepare a customized breakfast for us.
We began our day with freshly baked croissants complemented by fresh fruits, orange juice, and aromatic coffees to ignite our morning.
Lloyd selected poached eggs served on toast with bacon, while I opted for pancakes. Typically, I prefer sweet to savory dishes at breakfast—this preference notably extends to lunch and dinner as well, acknowledging my enduring sweet tooth.
After finishing our breakfast, which could be classified as brunch given the timing, we were undeterred by the forecasted rain and decided to explore the hippy market.
Overview of The Hippy Market
The Hippy Market boasts a diverse array of items and surprises that might come as a surprise considering its relatively limited size compared to larger markets in London. My preferred markets fall into two distinct categories: culinary markets and flea markets.
Although the hippy market incorporates elements of a flea market, it also features a plethora of commercial merchandise, which doesn’t entirely align with the “hippy” ethos it advertises. Nevertheless, the lively atmosphere and welcoming demeanor of the vendors make it a pleasant place to saunter for an hour or so.

After approximately 30 minutes, we returned to The Giri Cafe for refreshments. Serving as a quintessential cafe during daylight hours, The Giri Cafe offers superb coffee, tantalizing cocktails (for those inclined), and a commendable selection of light meals for the afternoon.
The Giri Cafe even grows its herbs and spices in-house to ensure fresh ingredients for their culinary masterpieces. This dedication embodies a true farm-to-table philosophy.
