Travel from Phuket to Phi Phi Islands, specifically Koh Phi Phi Don, takes approximately 2 hours, while the journey from Krabi is around 1.5 hours. The main island, situated a few miles from Maya Bay, is readily accessible under suitable conditions.
Tickets can be procured in advance, usually from larger hotels, directly at the boat, or from vendors in the principal towns. However, be prepared for potential seasickness during turbulent waters; it is safe to say that being unwell on a two-hour boat journey is an experience to avoid.

This creates two implications for travelers. Firstly, the abundance of small boat companies offers greater choices for chartering boats from the larger Koh Phi Phi Don to Maya Bay. Secondly, anticipate sharing the bay with numerous other visitors, including an array of speedboats. While this might differ from the idealistic depiction of an isolated paradise, it reflects the reality of visiting a sought-after destination and should inform your planning.
