A weekend getaway to the Cotswolds is an experience that should not be missed whether you live in the UK or are simply visiting.

This picturesque area of England is breathtaking and provides a glimpse into the quintessential aspects of English life.

After roughly an hour-long train journey from London and a brief stop to collect our vehicle, we began our journey to the town of Tetbury, pausing first for a meal.

We enjoyed lunch at The Wild Duck Inn in Ewen, an exceptional establishment steeped in history, providing a delightful start to our trip.

After lunch, we ventured to Tetbury, a town characterized by its charming English architecture, quaint shops, and a serene ambiance.

We indulged in the delightful local cuisine at numerous venues, absorbing the rich history and contemporary culture intertwined in every corner of Tetbury.

A memorable stop was the Westonbirt Arboretum – an expansive botanical garden specifically focused on trees. Although winter presented a less vibrant view, the arboretum is spectacular during the fall and summer months, making it an ideal visit when the plants are in full bloom.

Lloyd selected the bubble and squeak, a traditional British dish made from leftover vegetables, while I savored the haddock tempura – both of which were a delight.
