Additionally, there are various inland lakes, which may be smaller in scale but provide ample recreational opportunities. Michigan is situated in the Midwestern region of the United States, bordered by the Great Lakes. As the tenth most populous state in the nation, it is renowned for its breathtaking waterfalls.
If you’ve ever met anyone from Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, they likely held up their right hand, then pointed to a spot on their palm to illustrate where they’re from.
As a fourth-generation Michigander who has spent significant time living elsewhere, I can attest to the fact that we’re a unique bunch.
Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is known for its charming small towns enveloped by expansive forests, often cloaked in early morning fog during late summer. As you traverse the winding dirt roads, you may find that the number of cars you pass can be counted on one hand. Although this may sound like the perfect backdrop for a Stephen King novel, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan offers a stunning array of untouched natural beauty.
Michigan, it’s right in our own backyard. Growing up on the Great Lakes in Ontario, crossing the border at Detroit was a regular event. Back in 2020, border crossings became a rarity, and nostalgia set in as we reminisced about road trips through Michigan.
