Our second visit to Sri Lanka was rather spontaneous.
“Welcome to Sri Lanka!” was one of the first greetings I heard in Colombo, the country’s bustling big city. A local graced me with those lovely words from across the street. Not a storekeeper, nor a hawker, just a person who wanted to pass on a warm hello.
Jungle Beach in Sri Lanka is the most accessible location for enjoying a day filled with snorkeling. There is no need for a guide or a tour—anyone with snorkeling gear can simply enjoy the vibrant life on the reef!

One of the most pleasant ways to explore Sri Lanka is by train.
We had two glorious days in Yala National Park with a total of three outings in the park. Touring with a private driver and guide gave us the luxury of spotting wildlife at our own pace without the crowds. We enjoyed two nights atThe Cinnamon Wild Lodge where we stayed right in the middle of wildlife.This was how a safari in Sri Lanka was meant to be.
We love Sri Lanka. Having visited Sri Lanka four times, we still manage to discover something new. It is one of the few countries that we actually felt sad leaving. While visiting this beautiful island located off the southern coast of India in the middle of the Indian Ocean, we enjoyed the warm Sri Lankan hospitality, had awesome wildlife encounters, and enjoyed some much-needed time on the beach.
