I find myself writing from my hotel room in St Kitts (not sure how pertinent that is but it felt necessary to mention).
Fittingly shaped like a tropical fish, St Kitts packs a lot to see and do in its lush and historical expanse. One of the Caribbean’s best stone forts dominates the north, while a string of beaches dot the south. Distinct mountain ranges – and an extinct volcano – add texture.
On our final day in St Kitts, we were greeted with an unexpected sight – clouds in the sky! The previous days had been filled with sunshine, making the thought of rain seem highly improbable. However, don’t be deceived; it remained warm, perfect for casual attire.
St. Kitts is a captivating Caribbean nation waiting to be explored. It is one of those hidden gems that may not have been widely recognized until recently. Although it appears to be like any other Caribbean island at first glance, the myriad of exceptional activities to engage in makes St Kitts one of the most versatile islands in the Caribbean.
After a spot of lunch on the beach and a rather lazy stretch in the sunshine, we decided to get ourselves in gear and go on a jet ski!
The beautiful little island of St Kitts is one I’d been looking forward to visiting for a while. The journey to explore this stunning Caribbean destination was filled with anticipation.
I’m always intimidated by challenging hikes. To be clear, maybe “intimidated” isn’t the best choice of words. My anxiety comes from a fear of not performing well, so it’s perhaps more accurate to say I’m apprehensive when it comes to difficult hikes.
St Kitts and Nevis are two neighboring islands that together form the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. A narrow 3km channel known as The Narrows separates the two islands, making it easy to visit both via sailing trips, ferries, and water taxis. While we chose St Kitts as our base, accommodations are available on both islands.
For a destination that has only experienced large-scale tourism for a few years, St. Kitts offers a surprisingly diverse range of attractions and activities for visitors to experience, including a well-preserved British fortress, hikes to an extinct volcano, and of course day trips to neighboring Nevis. Here’s a list of enjoyable things to do while visiting St. Kitts.
