Travelling with children can often result in the need for an additional holiday to recuperate. While we cherish our children, a family holiday can be quite demanding. The selection of cafes prioritizes facilities that can provide entertainment for the kids over merely the quality of coffee.
‘I’m flying to the Maldives’, I informed my friends, attempting to conceal a smile. A smile that only a select few, those who have visited the Maldives, can comprehend. It is a sentiment uniquely shared by individuals who have experienced the luxury that the Maldives offers, particularly at establishments like Soneva Fushi.
Recently returned from an enchanting Maldivian sunset cruise at Kandolhu Island, we indulged in cocktails illuminated by the moonlight before proceeding to dinner, which held an even greater allure under the stars.
Shortly after breakfast at our previous location in the Maldives, the seaplane arrived to transport us to a new destination –Velassaru, with a brief stop at the capital, Male.
During our inaugural visit to the Maldives, the intention was to remain there for two weeks; however, we were captivated by the enchanting beauty of Sri Lanka, leading to a reallocation of our time between both destinations. Consequently, we spent five days in the Maldives (six nights in total) and a week in Sri Lanka.
This was one aspect I eagerly anticipated long before our arrival in the Maldives!
On the following morning atthe Angsana Velavaru, afterour relatively leisurely arrival dayin the Maldives, I had three primary activities planned: snorkeling (the Maldives is renowned for this), enjoying the spa treatments, and of course, indulging in cheesecake to the fullest.
Indeed, we are in the Maldives, and it is as spectacular as I recall!
