A Fresh Perspective on Travel Every Day
Having never operated a sailboat personally, my experiences until now had been limited to enjoying the company of skilled mariners which often included indulgence in refreshments. Despite my previous engagements on boats, the act of sailing itself was uncharted territory for me.
After an enjoyable day spent in Ciutadella, where we had developed quite an appetite, we proceeded toCafé Balearby the harbour to enjoy our evening meal.
Following our abundant lunch by the coast, I was hardly prepared for any strenuous activity, thus we embarked on a more leisurely excursion around Menorca – specifically, a sailing trip departing from the port of Mahon, the island’s capital.
The Balearic Islands present a breathtaking Mediterranean holiday destination, ideal for diverse travelers. However, selecting a single island to visit can be a challenge; hence, I aim to highlight some premier activities in Menorca, one of my preferred Balearic Islands.
Menorca, the easternmost of Spain’s sun-dappled Balearic Islands, moves to its own relaxed rhythm, and a fierce commitment to sustainability has always been at the core of the local tourism industry. Thanks to the early protection of its beautiful natural spaces, this unhurried, environmentally minded island remains a gentle vision of sparkly turquoise waves, of rippling countryside sprinkled with stone walls and ancient Talayotic monuments, of isolated lighthouses on wind-lashed capes, and of golden-white coves hidden down dusty pine-scented paths.
This popular region of Spain includes the islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, and Formentera.
We arrived in Menorca from London late at night. Consequently, I did not get to see much of the island on the way to our hotel, the brilliantHotel Artiem Audax. We went straight for dinner and then fell asleep shortly after.
