Summary
Waterfall Location
In the village of Gasadalur exists a waterfall that you likely have encountered online at some point. Even if you do not realize it…
Journey to Gasadalur
Upon our arrival at the dock in Vestmanna, we opted to maximize our idle time prior to the next scheduled activity (we had approximately five hours to spare) and proceeded towards Gasadalur… however, about midway through our journey, we suddenly recognized that we had overlooked lunch. It is amusing what a bit of fresh air and adrenaline can do to one’s memory – I typically never neglect my meals!
Lunch Experience
Lunch was rather hurried, typical to Scandinavian cuisine, as we indulged in hotdogs with fries… accompanied by my new favorite, apple crisps. I refer not to the insipid, soggy varieties typically found in stores, but rather crunchy, moisture-free, delectable apple crisps. The best aspect – no added sugar, alleviating any sense of guilt (justly or unjustly) as I consumed a bag that I am quite certain was intended for a family of four to share.
Exploring Gasadalur
A few detours were made along the route, partly to admire the extensive stretch of black sandy beach, though primarily because we had taken an erroneous turn, and we even made a furry friend on our way…
The dogs in this region are exceptionally well-trained and remarkably well-behaved as we continued our journey to Gasadalur.
Farewell to Gasadalur
Regrettably, we had to eventually take our leave of Gasadalur in all its splendor as we made our way back to Torshavn for another exhilarating (and adrenaline-filled) pursuit! More details on that coming soon…
