In recent weeks, there has been a significant amount of travel across multiple cities, as evidenced by our posts on Instagram, where further details are available.
Despite the whirlwind of visiting numerous locations—at one point, I found myself in seven different cities within the span of a week—there remains one city that I feel compelled to discuss: Venice.
Venice presents itself as an intriguing and distinctive city. My admiration is profound—not in the sense that I wish to permanently reside there, as I do with Florence, Barcelona, or Lisbon, but rather in a manner that is difficult to articulate.
There exists an element within the city that brings me joy and captivates my spirit, although the specifics elude me.
Indeed, I appreciate the extensive history, the remarkable architecture, and of course, the delicious cuisine. I find joy in the winding alleyways and the quaint pizzerias that are tucked away from the typical paths that one might follow.
However, numerous cities boast analogous attributes (history, cuisine, stunning vistas); thus, what sets Venice apart and renders it feel ‘distinctive’?
Despite my inability to define this ‘singular quality’, it is clear that Venice possesses a magical essence that is elusive elsewhere in the world.
Although I recognize how overly sentimental this may sound (I found myself cringing while composing it), the sentiment holds true.
There exists something profoundly astonishing about this location that is challenging to articulate and is always best experienced firsthand.
Keeping this in mind, in light of (or perhaps in advance of) your visit to Venice, I thought it prudent to share some photographs from our recent brief return to this enchanting city for just one night.
