Summary
This is truly an exciting development! For the first time on GoTravelDaily, we are introducing a guest contributor!
Without delay, please allow me to introduce – Georgia! Georgia is a fellow London resident, a skilled graphic artist, and an exceptional photographer. Additionally, she is affectionately known as the ‘Mother of Dragons.’ While that last title might not be entirely accurate, she is definitely the proud owner of the most charming French Bulldog in London – Señor Baxter. He is undeniably a mischievous little companion. I fondly recall when he was merely two months old, exuberantly showering affection—albeit in the form of pees! Thankfully, he is now a well-trained boy who even excels in a spirited game of football…but I digress!
During a recent conversation with Georgia, she shared her experiences visiting this remarkable castle, which inspired me to relay this information to you!
I almost forgot to mention, Georgia is among my most organized friends, and thanks to her meticulous planning, our three-week road trip across America was a success. The same goes for our journeys to Thailand and Amsterdam. Moreover, she radiates positivity and is always a joy to be around! Without further ado, here’s a recap of Georgia’s enchanting visit to the castle…
FROM GEORGIA:
Recently, I had the pleasure of spending my weekend at a magnificent five-star Regency Castle, which was absolutely exquisite—I couldn’t help but tell everyone about this hidden gem. Since I hail from this part of Wales, I was entirely unaware of its existence nestled off the A487 between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth. I was fortunate to stay here for my brother-in-law’s wedding—there is something truly magical about celebrating a momentous occasion at such a picturesque venue, and this certainly qualifies as an exceptional location!
The views from this castle are breathtaking, particularly from the turret, which offers sweeping vistas of the Dovey estuary and the rolling hills of stunning rural Mid Wales. The owners have tastefully adorned the interiors, and the castle exudes a cozy yet opulent ambiance (a pairing of words one seldom hears!).
The property dates back to the 1820s and underwent significant refurbishment in 2007, preserving its original features while incorporating modern conveniences. The castle boasts eight rooms, a library, a conservatory, and an expansive 45 acres of beautifully manicured gardens. Owners Maureen and Peter are welcoming and exceptionally friendly hosts! Not to forget their adorable dog Sid, who greets guests at the driveway and helps them settle in! Truly enchanting!
I wholeheartedly recommend this estate for a relaxing weekend escape or a special celebration.
And how could I overlook mentioning its name? It’s referred to as Glandyfi Castle. For those interested in visiting or learning more about this exquisite location, please explore their website: www.glandyficastle.co.uk.
