Overview of Ratatouille the Adventure
Known in French as Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy (“Remy’s Totally Zany Adventure”), this motion-based trackless 4D dark ride opened in July 2014 at Walt Disney Studios Park, the second of two theme parks at Disneyland Paris.
It is one of the most popular attractions and is available as a FastPass ticket. Like many sought-after rides, the lines for this attraction tend to grow longer as the day progresses. To enjoy the ride without wasting time in long lines, consider acquiring a FastPass or arriving at the park upon opening and heading straight to this attraction.
You enter the queue at Gusteau’s restaurant in Place de Rémy, a Parisian courtyard. Through innovative forced perspective and other techniques, this immersive ride makes you feel as though you’ve been shrunk to the size of a rat. As you wait on the rooftop of the restaurant, Rémy and Chef Gusteau deliberate on what meal to serve. Just as they settle on their ratatouille dish, your group unexpectedly falls through a swinging pane on the roof, landing on the kitchen floor. A thrilling chase ensues with the cooks pursuing you and your fellow “rats” as you attempt to flee for your lives. After a chaotic journey through the kitchen and dining area, you eventually reach Rémy’s kitchen, where the ratatouille is being prepared; the ride concludes with everyone safely enjoying the ambiance at Bistrot Chez Rémy.
For this ride, passengers enjoy the experience wearing 3D glasses, while the cars move with a smooth spinning and gliding motion. Although the storyline involves a whirlwind chase, the motion is notably fluid. It offers a fun experience suitable for all ages, allowing families to ride without concern for frightening elements or jerky movements. The ride lasts approximately five minutes from boarding to disembarkation.
