History
Harry London was a real person who learned the secrets to chocolate-making from his father, Gilbert London, utilizing recipes and techniques rooted in their family’s European traditions. The family’s motto emphasized that quality was more important than quantity. Harry London began his chocolate-making journey crafting gifts for friends and family until the demand became so great that he left his job at the steel mill to establish Harry London Candies in 1922. Notably, in 1995, production moved to the current facility in Green/North Canton, conveniently located next to the Akron-Canton Regional Airport. Over the decades, family traditions and recipes have persisted, using the highest quality and purest ingredients. In 2006, 1-800-FLOWER.COM acquired the company for $85 million, yet the brand and product lines have remained unchanged. Currently, Harry London Candies employs approximately 225 people year-round, increasing to 500 during peak production seasons like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter.
The Factory Store
