As you may have noticed on our instagram lately, I have been experimenting with a variety of styles of photography – particularly with regards to editing photos. In the past, I’ve had a clear idea of how I would like my images to look, but recently, I’ve decided to take more risks with my photo editing and not always choose the obvious. While I can’t guarantee I’ll be any good at it, I believe a great way to learn is through trying, and so that is exactly what I’m going to do.

One of the best aspects of blogging and social media is the opportunity for self-expression. It’s not about perfection (which can often be boring) but rather about sharing your unique perspective with the world and seeing if others share your viewpoint.

Thanks to your amazing support and feedback, blogging has helped build my confidence in photography, which is significant for me as photography is what initially drew me to blogging. The defining moment for me was when I received an email from VSCO a few days ago stating they had added my photo to their curated images. I have been a huge fan of VSCO since I discovered it (and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it enough times for you to know this), so it was a tremendous honor when I was notified that my image (which I hadn’t thought much of at the time) was included on their list.

I know it might seem like I’m rambling, but the point of this post is to share some of the photographs I’ve been playing around with so far and to hear your thoughts on them. If you have any tips or suggestions to share, I would be immensely grateful for your input! I initially planned to incorporate the explanations into the post without much context but decided it would be beneficial to provide some background as well. Some of the images were taken with my iPhone, while others were captured using my Canon 1100D DSLR camera and my Canon 6D DSLR camera. So, without further ado, here are the photos:
