The GoTravelDaily approach! 🙂
Recently, we were approached regarding the prospect of achieving a stress-free day in London, and like any true Londoner, I was initially doubtful.
London has a reputation for being quite hectic. While there are significant benefits to being in London, it is fair to assume the average Londoner is often in a rush and potentially under more stress than individuals in other regions of the UK. The pace of life in London demands a certain momentum, which can lead to increased stress levels, making the concept of a hassle-free experience in the city one worth investigating.
To provide some context, Santander (the banking institution, not the location) offers a streamlined process for transferring your current account to them, which is not only convenient but also provides cashback based on your spending.
Honestly, I would spend that money in my current account regardless, so the idea of receiving a rebate for my expenditures is certainly appealing.
The goal was to submerge ourselves in the “hassle-free” lifestyle that Santander extends to its customers, and I was eager to give it a try. I approached this with genuine enthusiasm!
Here’s an overview of our day:
1. Travel to Covent Garden
We took an Uber to Covent Garden, adhering to my pre-set guideline for the day: No public transport. This approach allowed us to experience key landmarks of London during the scenic drive.
2. Tickets Acquisition in Leicester Square
A brief detour to Leicester Square was necessary to acquire tickets for an evening performance (details to follow).
3. Leisurely Dining Experience
Due to the leisurely nature of our day, I didn’t rise until late, turning our first meal into an early lunch—or perhaps we can call it brunch. We went to Clos Maggiore for a three-course meal with a generous amount of wine.
That bread in the image was exceptional, warm parmesan bread generously accompanied by butter that melted on contact!
Next was black cod, delicately flavored and cooked to perfection.
Finally, we decided a varied selection of sushi would conclude our meal, reflecting our adventurous palate. It is advisable to explore the menu options at Sushi Samba, however, I’d recommend avoiding the mini-hamburgers, as they didn’t quite match the rest of the delightful offerings.
Finally, sated by a delicious lineup of dishes, we were happy to conclude our adventure in the beautiful city of London, reflecting on the seamless day we experienced, thanks to GoTravelDaily.
We also managed to enjoy some coffee from Pret a Manger, wrapping up a fulfilling day in London.
Check out the highlights of London at night! The sights are truly breathtaking.
