Stan Hywet Hall in Akron, Ohio, is a National Historic Landmark. The 65-room Tudor-style mansion was built in 1912 by Goodyear Rubber Company founder F.A. Seiberling and his wife Gertrude. Today, this gracious mansion and its elaborate gardens are open to the public, with a variety of special events hosted throughout the year.

The Arcade, located between Superior and Euclid Avenues in downtown Cleveland, is one of America’s first indoor shopping malls and Cleveland’s first skyscraper. Built in 1890, the magnificent building consists of two 9-story towers, connected by a glass and metal, 5-story atrium. Today, the building houses a Hyatt Hotel, retail shops, a number of restaurants, and coffee shops, alongside a food court.
Located on the shores of Lake Erie about an hour’s drive east of Cleveland, Geneva-on-the-Lake was one of Ohio’s earliest lakeside resorts. Today, this vibrant resort community is filled with antique shops, a variety of restaurants, water attractions, and a multitude of wineries, making it a must-visit destination.

Kings Island, located between Columbus and Cincinnati, is consistently rated as a family favorite amusement park. The 364-acre park features 14 roller coasters, a 15-acre water park, a classic merry-go-round, a children’s area, and an abundance of shops, food stands, and exciting rides.
The Rockefeller Park Greenhouse, located just off of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near University Circle in Cleveland, houses a wonderful and diverse collection of exotic and native plants. Admission to the greenhouse is free, and highlights include the extensive orchid and tropical plant exhibits, as well as the spring bulb and December holiday plant displays.
Set in the heart of the mid-west, Cleveland offers a myriad of varied attractions, from the well-known, such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, to the lesser-known, such as the Crawford Automobile and Aviation Museum. The second-largest city in Ohio makes it convenient to catch all the best attractions as most are located within a 10- to 30-minute drive downtown. At one time, hundreds of covered bridges graced the northeast Ohio countryside. These fascinating structures, originally popularized in 18th century Connecticut, were carried over by early settlers of the (Connecticut) Western Reserve. Today, a mere 50 of these bridges remain, with the largest grouping in Ashtabula County, located just an hour’s drive east of downtown Cleveland.

Shaker Square, located in Cleveland at the edge of Shaker Heights, is a diverse and historic neighborhood, begun by the Van Sweringen brothers in 1922. As interesting today as it was in the 1920s and 1930s, Shaker Square continues to attract residents, shoppers, and artists.
