I sailed the western Caribbean on the Carnival Liberty not long after the first of the 2.0 changes were made to the ship, and I’m happy to say that the cruise line has some winning ideas. The Carnival Liberty was the first of the Carnival Cruise Lines ships to undergo itsFunShip 2.0renovation. Carnival announced in 2011 that the company is investing over $500 million to enhance its fleet over the next several years. I had previously sailed on the Carnival Liberty in 2006, so it was interesting to see the changes made to the ship.
TheCarnival Freedombecame the 22nd ship in the GoTravelDaily fleet in February 2007. This impressive 3,000-passenger, 110,000-ton ship is a sister ship to the Carnival Liberty, which was launched in 2005. Carnival Freedom boasts a variety of amenities, including nearly two dozen lounges and bars, a large spa, a jogging track, an Internet café, and four swimming pools—one featuring a 214-foot-long water slide.
The Carnival Fantasy, built in 1990, has undergone numerous refurbishments, making it visually appealing with interiors that blend fun and comfort.
The Carnival Dream offers a plethora of dining choices, presenting an array of international cuisines. The ship features two primary dining venues: the spacious 1,180-seat Scarlet Restaurant and the 828-seat Crimson Restaurant, both designed with vibrant red aesthetics.
The Carnival Breeze cruise ship boasts a variety of dining venues showcasing international cuisines from around the world. With over a dozen options, guests can enjoy everything from casual counter-service meals akin to a food court to full-service restaurants like Bonsai Sushi and Cucina del Capitano. In addition, both main dining rooms—Blush and Sapphire—offer traditional service with a refined touch.
The layout and size of the cabins on the Carnival Breeze are identical to those on the Carnival Magic and Carnival Dream. These photos were all taken in cabin #8202 on the Carnival Breeze during a 12-night Mediterranean cruise. This particular cabin is located toward the front on the port side, providing a notable advantage in terms of quietness—ideal for a serene cruise experience.
