Admission & Hours of Operation

One of the most attractive features of the Oklahoma Railway Museum is that admission is entirely free. However, since it is an outdoor attraction, visitors should be aware that the museum may close due to inclement weather or extreme temperatures. The facility operates every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ride the Train

Guests can enjoy a memorable experience riding the train. Train operations take place on the first and third Saturdays from April to August, the first Saturday in September, and the last Saturday in October. The departures on these days are scheduled as follows:

  • 9:15 am
  • 11:15 am
  • 1:15 pm
  • 3:15 pm

Ticket prices for riding the train are $12 for ages 13 and older, $5 for children aged 3 to 12, and free for kids under 3 years old. These prices do not apply to special train events detailed below.

Thomas the Tank Engine

A 15-ton replica of Thomas the Tank Engine is a highlight at the Oklahoma Railway Museum during the fall as part of the “Day Out with Thomas” event. This exciting occasion presents children with the opportunity to take a 25-minute ride on Thomas, interact with the Controller of the Railway, Sir Topham Hatt, and engage in various activities, including arts and crafts and storytelling.

Other Special Trains

Throughout the year, the Oklahoma Railway Museum organizes special events like the Halloween Train and the Christmas Train. Adults in costume for the Halloween Train receive a $2 discount off the regular ticket price of $12 for those aged 15 and up. Tickets for children ages 3 to 12 cost only $5, and children under 3 can participate for free. Please refer to the official site for updated ticket prices for the Christmas Train.

Birthday Parties

The Oklahoma Railway Museum serves as a distinctive location for children’s birthday parties, featuring a 1921 wooden caboose and a train depot platform. Two birthday packages are offered: one at $250 that includes a train ride for up to 20 guests, available on selected dates, and another at $150 without a train ride. Both packages come with paper engineer hats and a rail safety coloring book. For inquiries, please call (405) 850-0597 or email chuck@oklahomarailwaymusem.org.
