Hike To Nungnung Waterfall

The hike to Nungnung Waterfall, while short, is quite exhausting. There are approximately 500 steps, and every step is worth it!

It takes around 15 minutes to walk down and about 30 minutes to climb back up, but due to the humidity and incline, it may feel longer. Therefore, make sure to bring plenty of water!

The surrounding green jungle is stunning, and you’ll encounter a couple of smaller waterfalls on your way to the main attraction.

The grand finale of this trek is an enormous waterfall, producing a heavy mist flying in all directions.

What To Expect At Nungnung Waterfall

Be prepared for a powerful waterfall. Maintain a safe distance, as your electronics can get wet if you are too close.

Additionally, the rocks near the waterfall may be slippery, so exercise caution. You can swim in the pool below the falls, but avoid getting too close to the thundering water to ensure your safety.

During my first visit to this waterfall in 2017, it felt like a hidden gem; I was entirely alone except for a local Indonesian couple who happened to be hiking.

Nowadays, the waterfall has become a popular Instagram spot in Bali, so expect to see more visitors unless you arrive very early.

If you have a drone and feel adventurous, you can capture some stunning aerial shots of this waterfall in tripod mode!
