Now, let me describe our recent trip with my family. We visited the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, located in Jimbaran, Indonesia.
It is a mere 15-minute drive from Bali’s airport, making it an ideal location for families, as Jimbaran beach features some of the safest swimming conditions in Bali.
This marked our second stay at the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, which is connected to Samasta Lifestyle Village. The resort is conveniently situated just a five-minute walk from the center of Jimbaran and boasts a well-managed kids club alongside a variety of family-oriented activities.
Utilizing the MyResorts program, guests will enjoy MyHost privileges—a dedicated concierge service assigned to Gold members to assist in curating a fulfilling stay.
Upon check-in, your MyHost will escort you to your room and outline your anticipated activities. The MyResorts program includes MyUpgrade, which allows for personalized modifications to your hotel room’s setup. Our room featured a Family Extension, and the children were thrilled to discover their accommodations adorned with toys. They were exceedingly excited and joyfully explored the space.
What we appreciated about the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali was the expansive pool area, which includes child-friendly amenities such as a toddler pool, a waterslide, and a playground for older children, complemented by a vast main pool featuring a swim-up bar for adults to unwind. The adjacent Meera Kids Club also offers babysitting services.
Below, I share a sample itinerary that the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali prepared for us, with our primary focus on MyKids, MyGlass, MyExtraTime.
DAY 1
12:00 PM – Sunday Family Jazz Brunch Experience at Anarasa Restaurant
Anarasa Restaurant offers a range of Swiss and Peruvian culinary specialties through an innovative concept that incorporates live music and interactive cooking stations, resulting in engaging culinary experiences for families. This event is available every Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM, featuring dishes influenced by both local and international flavors.
6:00 PM – In-Room Dining Experience
This dining experience includes a variety of international favorites and signature dishes from the restaurant, including the specialty “Nasi Goreng Bali,” which features Balinese-style fried rice, sunny side up eggs, sate lilit, pickles, and a chicken drumstick.
We dedicated our first day to exploring the resort, swimming in the pool, visiting the Meera Kids Club, and heading to Jimbaran beach to watch the breathtaking sunset. The beach is just a short five-minute walk or an easy beach shuttle ride from the hotel.
DAY 2
7:00 AM – Breakfast Experience at Anarasa Restaurant
Anarasa Restaurant offers a stylish breakfast venue that overlooks the tropical garden, providing a variety of Asian delicacies along with a designated children’s zone. My daughters particularly enjoyed the special children’s buffet that featured whimsical yet nutritious dishes, with ingredients cut into playful shapes and served on child-friendly crockery.
8:00 AM – Cultural Journey for MyDiscovery Experience
As a part of our MyResorts program, we participated in an activity that we booked online. At the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, guests can engage in a half-day Family Cultural Journey to learn more about the local neighborhood.
We visited the Kedonganan fish market to observe the fishermen’s traditional village. The journey continued with an introduction to playing Balinese music, a traditional Balinese dance, and a cooking class focused on Balinese cuisine. We also captured family photographs dressed in traditional Balinese attire.
11:00 AM – Balinese Cooking Class
This was a wonderful experience! Under the guidance of our chef, we learned to prepare four traditional Balinese dishes, including Sate lilit, Lawar, Chicken Tum, and Sambal Matah (which was my favorite). My daughters took charge of the majority of the cooking, while I offered minimal assistance. I felt a great sense of pride witnessing their cooking skills and achievements.
1:30 PM – Lunch Experience at Anarasa Restaurant
Following our cooking class, we enjoyed the fruits of our labor for lunch. My husband and I pretended to be judges in a MasterChef-style challenge, praising our daughters for their delicious creations. This was truly an unforgettable experience.
2:00 PM – Swimming Time
The swimming pool is a vast lagoon set amidst stunning gardens. The water temperature was pleasantly warm. Lifeguards were positioned at several locations, and a section of the pool features a sandy beach area. My daughters particularly enjoyed the waterslides, and for younger children, the resort also includes a smaller pool. Our room provided convenient access to the pool. Insider Tip: I recommend selecting a room with direct pool access.
Another enjoyable offering from the MyResorts program is MyGlass. Join your children for an engaging beverage experience in a one-time mocktail class featuring piña coladas at the Katha Lobby Lounge, all while overlooking breathtaking Jimbaran Bay.
The Katha Lobby Lounge provides an upscale ambiance where guests can indulge in specialty coffees or explore a selection of international tea offerings while enjoying afternoon tea.
My daughters were thrilled to create their own drinks for the first time. They not only appreciated their vacation but also relished the fun learning experiences. As parents, we were able to unwind in the lounge.
DAY 3
8:00 AM – Breakfast Experience at Mövenpick Café
The Mövenpick Café stands as a modern lifestyle venue located in the heart of Samasta Lifestyle Village.
We particularly enjoyed the Swiss-style artisanal ice cream available in 12 different flavors. Guests can also opt for a decadent pastry to accompany their perfectly roasted Mövenpick coffee.
9:30 AM – MyKids Experience at Meera Kids Club
Meera Kids Club is a two-story facility designed with a captivating pirate theme and certified as a professional childcare center by Worldwide Kid’s Club City and Guilds London. My daughters were enthralled by the extensive playground and were reluctant to leave.
Pampering my daughters with the MyKids experience was delightful. We selected two special activities from an array that included: gangsing painting, ice cream sandwich making, muffin making & baking, treasure hunting, milkshake crafting, t-shirt painting, canvas bag painting, ceramic painting, face painting, pool parties, pizza making, ice hunting, van painting, jewelry making, kite crafting, pajama parties, and hair braiding.
Our daughters opted for muffin making and canvas bag painting. After completing their projects, they were allowed to keep a gift such as a t-shirt, cap, or water bottle. The Meera Kids Club also includes sporting activities such as children’s aerobics, yoga, stretching, and cultural experiences.
I indulged in a 60-minute Melt Me Softly treatment to rejuvenate my mind and body, featuring a 30-minute back massage followed by a 30-minute body polish. The Melt Me Softly treatment is also available for children. However, I suggest enjoying it with a partner, as there is a beautifully appointed couples room.
Arkipela Spa & Wellness provides guests with exclusive, customized treatments utilizing fresh local ingredients, including various massage oils, honey, and milk. These carefully selected ingredients contribute to relaxation and nourish the skin.
Guests can enjoy delightful treats during the Chocolate Hour at all Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts worldwide. Switzerland is renowned for its chocolate, and Mövenpick dedicates one hour each afternoon to an exquisite tasting experience featuring a variety of chocolate offerings and homemade confections, such as éclairs, brownies, truffles, chocolate fountains, and more.
7:00 PM – Dinner Experience at Above Eleven Rooftop Bar & Restaurant
Above Eleven Rooftop Bar & Restaurant is Indonesia’s first park-themed rooftop bar and restaurant, providing breathtaking views of the island, an impressive cocktail menu, and a unique blend of Peruvian-Japanese cuisine. The best time to visit is during sunset to enjoy the majestic view of Jimbaran Bay from the rooftop.
DAY 4
8:00 AM – Breakfast at Anarasa Restaurant
On our final day in Bali, we enjoyed breakfast before unwinding at the resort, savoring every last moment. Naturally, I continued to take photos of the stunning surroundings. Each corner of the resort has the potential to capture idyllic moments at the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali. While we primarily indulged in activities within the hotel, we certainly made the most of our experience. Thanks to the MyResorts program, all our activities and special privileges were easily arranged with a single click.
Additionally, we utilized our MyExtraTime. Typically, check-out occurs at 12 PM; however, members of MyResorts can enjoy early check-in or late check-out. Our flight was scheduled for around 5:00 PM, and the airport was merely 15 minutes away. I took advantage of MyExtraTime to rest while the children enjoyed some extended pool time.
