An Idyllic Stay at Mount Engadine Lodge

Staying in Mount Engadine Lodge for the night turned out to be the perfect opportunity to slow down and make the most of our beautiful scenery in Alberta.

Our road trip through this gorgeous part of Canada thus far had been fairly packed and having an afternoon with no plans but to drink wine and soak up these views was much-welcome and greatly appreciated.

Skiing Adventure in Banff

I awoke the next morning with an extra spring in my step, partly because we were heading off skiing in Banff but largely due to having had an amazing night’s sleep.

The Thrill of a First Moose Sighting

And then something I’d wanted to experience in Canada finally happened – we spotted our very first moose!

The moose was grazing on the side of the road; therefore, caution was crucial. Thankfully, Lloyd’s sharp eyes meant he spotted it from a distance and slowed down, ensuring we didn’t startle it.

Dining at Chuck’s Steakhouse

We hit the slopes straight away, discovering our favorite runs. It was actually our first experience skiing at this remarkable location.

As the day turned into evening, we checked into the newly refurbished Mount Royal Hotel where we kicked back in the rooftop hot tub until dinner time, relishing our amazing skiing experience.

Dinner took us to Chuck’s Steakhouse, a must-visit for meat lovers. We selected a Wagyu steak to share and complemented it with delightful sides, celebrating the perfect end to an adventurous day.

The beef, served with a side of fries and potato gratin, exceeded my high expectations regarding tenderness and flavor, leaving us both satisfied and happy.

Alas, with all that beef, dessert quickly went out the window as we left the restaurant too stuffed to indulge further. Generally, dessert is my favorite part of any meal, yet after such deliciously cooked beef, I had absolutely no regrets.

As the day concluded, we hoped for favorable weather for the next day, looking forward to indulging in more unique experiences in Alberta.
