The designer of Villa Tjitrap, the internationally recognized Mr. Ross Franklin, was commissioned to create a villa in Bali that embodies a contemporary fusion of the historic plantation house Tjitrap, where the owners’ grandmother spent her childhood in Java, and the iconic Black and White House in Singapore, where they resided for several years.
In the 19th century, “Huis Tjitrap” in Java was renowned as a destination where many guests experienced the esteemed hospitality of Majoor Jantje. Located in the Citeureup area, south of Jakarta, this residence gained fame for both its aesthetic allure and vibrant social gatherings.
Villa Tjitrap in Seminyak presently encapsulates the ambiance of a 19th-century plantation estate, infused with a tropical Javanese essence.
