Summary
Many of you may be aware that Bali is my preferred travel destination! Residing in Singapore provides us with the opportunity to explore this exquisite island nearly every month, making it feel like a second home. When our friends from Germany informed us of their upcoming visit to Bali, we promptly arranged our travel plans. As Tobi and I tend to be somewhat relaxed and spontaneous regarding travel, we unfortunately found ourselves without accommodation just a few hours before our departure… a typical scenario for us.
Fortunately, the wonderful Hilje made it possible for us to stay at her beautiful villa in Canggu – greetings to the enchanting ZIN Berawa – Puri Beji!
LOCATION: CANGGU – THE BROOKLYN OF BALI
ZIN Berawa – Puri Beji is situated in the serene area of Canggu (Berawa) – one of our preferred locations in Bali! The ambiance here is unique; it balances a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, with various contemporary establishments emerging throughout the neighborhood. It resembles the Brooklyn of Bali in many regards! The villa is located in a peaceful setting, with the beach and several excellent cafes within walking distance. Nevertheless, I would always recommend renting a scooter for enhanced flexibility to explore the area, allowing you to reach all the Seminyak hotspots within 5-10 minutes as well!
THE VILLA: DESIGN HEAVEN MEETS LUSH GREENERY
Typically, we opt for a charming private villa rather than a hotel when visiting the Canggu or Seminyak area. This time, however, our ‘charming private villa’ turned out to be an expansive and spectacular four-bedroom villa, which we enjoyed entirely to ourselves. Entering through the enchanting entrance adorned with lovely flowers immediately heightened our excitement about what awaited us inside!
Upon our evening arrival, the ambient lighting created a truly beautiful atmosphere throughout the villa. The dining and lounge area encompassed an open living space adjacent to the pool, tempting us to immediately dive into the pool and swim under the stars… However, drinks at Motel Mexicola awaited us that night, so we refrained until the following morning! 🙂 With only our party in the villa, I had the privilege of selecting from among the four luxurious suites. The two largest suites were positioned upstairs, offering a delightful view of the pool and a spacious bathroom. As an avid pool enthusiast, I chose one of the ground-level rooms, complete with sliding doors enabling us to plunge directly from our incredibly comfortable bed into the pool!
The villa appears to be newly constructed, featuring an exquisite overall design. High-quality wooden materials are harmoniously combined with concrete elements, all nestled within a lush tropical garden. The vast, stunning sunken lounge area and an impressive solid wood dining table seating ten or more make it ideally suited for family or friend gatherings. The entire property can accommodate up to 24 guests, including the delightful ZIN Berawa – Puri Beji Bed & Breakfast next door.
INSTA-WORTHY BREAKFAST
At ZIN Berawa – Puri Beji, your breakfast aspirations will be fulfilled. You can select your breakfast à la carte, resembling an order from one of Bali’s trendy brunch spots! Imagine poached eggs accompanied by edamame, avocado, and rocket on sourdough bread topped with poppy seeds, alongside a dragon fruit bowl with homemade granola, tropical fruits, and fresh coconuts! It is both delectable and visually stunning (perfect for sharing on Instagram!). 🙂
