Summary
A Visit to Borough Market
On a rather chilly Sunday afternoon, I embarked on a quest for an appealing array of three items and determined that Borough Market would be the ideal location for my search. To be truthful, I was merely seeking a valid reason to frequent Borough Market, which remains one of my preferred spots to wander in London. I readily seize any opportunity to visit.
However, I have yet to disclose what exactly I was searching for — I was on the lookout for three plants intended for glass hanging vases that I recently discovered. At a later date, I will share the vases, once I have set them up properly (and once I manage to photograph the interior of my new apartment); regrettably, they are a challenge to articulate (or perhaps I am simply inept at describing even the most straightforward items).
Searching for a Unique Experience
The journey to Borough Market commenced innocently enough, as I browsed through the various stalls filled with a vibrant assortment of fruits and vegetables.
A spontaneous selfie occurred, albeit photobombed by Lloyd!
Memorable Selfies
Feeling empathetic towards him, I invited him to join my selfie! 🙂 (Alternatively, he may have felt sorry for me after noticing the odd stares I received from passerby while I was attempting to capture a selfie in a market…)
Discovering Hog Roast
Amid our exploration, we stumbled upon a stall featuring hog roast! It took mere seconds for me to decide I wanted one and swiftly queue at the front!
While the sight of the hog roasting may have appeared gruesome, let us gloss over that detail…
Before long, I was served a delectable hog roast within a crusty ciabatta roll! It was truly a culinary delight!
Hot Cider Adventure
Next, I set out in search of some mulled wine. Any hot beverage would suffice…
We discovered a lovely stall offering warmed hot cider! Ordinarily, I would have opted for mulled wine rather than hot cider, so this was my inaugural venture into trying hot cider. The vendor encouraged me to taste a small sample, and I was instantly captivated; both of us opted for large cups of hot cider. Surprisingly, it resembled mulled wine more than the cider I am accustomed to.
Exploration of Borough Market
After being warmed by the hog rolls and hot cider, I proceeded to explore the market…
Meeting Paddington Bear
Then I encountered Paddington Bear! I was accustomed to seeing him at Paddington Station, so I was quite surprised to discover that he had made a visit to the market that Sunday as well! We paused for a brief conversation…
I offered him a share of my hot cider, but he graciously declined as he was in a hurry, and I proceeded to enjoy browsing Borough Market…
Conclusion
Eventually, I made my way home, thoroughly satisfied, warmed, and rejuvenated after this delightful but cold Sunday in London.
