History
Originally home to logging and mining companies, the Public Market buildings hark back to a time when Granville Island (not actually an island) was an industrial area on False Creek. In the 1970s, the area was reimagined as a public space that combines food with cultural experiences, including art and theater. Consequently, it has grown into a favorite destination for both tourists and locals alike.

Parking includes free two-hour spaces along with designated Evo spaces. Additionally, False Creek Ferries and the colorful AquaBus service provide convenient transportation options for visitors.
