Summary

This is the 2nd part of this post if you missed part 1; catch it here.
Now, where did we leave off?

We were at the Laugarvatn Fontana, where I chose to refresh myself by taking a plunge into the icy river.

The river is quite shallow; however, it was still extremely cold, so upon exiting, I sprinted as quickly as I could towards the sauna to warm up.

Eventually, we prepared to hit the road once more; however, feeling well nourished, hydrated, and rejuvenated, we were primed for our next destination: the Golden Circle.

Prior to departing, Viktor graciously offered us coffee to carry us through the journey, which we gladly accepted.

An experience at Laugarvatn Fontana marked an excellent beginning to our journey.

We then proceeded to the car!

We traveled directly to Geysir to observe the geysers.

As we drew near, Skrokkur, the largest and most active geyser here, greeted us with an eruption.

Fortunately, I had my camera readily accessible and immediately took it out.

Take a look at the Instagram post below to witness the geyser eruption as it occurred in reality.

Having visited at the conclusion of summer, I was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable transformation of the environment throughout the winter compared to the summer.

The landscape appeared striking, draped in a blanket of snow.

Ultimately, we advanced to our next destination, Gullfoss.

You may have recently viewed the images I shared over a week ago at Gullfoss from our prior visit to Iceland.

How do these images compare to the previous ones? Quite a contrast, isn’t it?

Our access was limited this time, however, as the path was closed…

…which was understandable given no one could navigate there sensibly due to the heavy snow.

After visiting Gullfoss, we made our way towards Reykjavik for the concluding stop of the night. We had developed quite an appetite for dinner, drinks, and certainly some well-deserved respite.
