As the holiday season approaches, characterized by extensive advertisements, festive street lighting, and seasonal promotions, the arrival of Christmas markets signifies significant cultural events in Germany.
One of the most delightful aspects of the holiday season is attending a German Christmas market. My appreciation for these markets developed gradually, beginning around seven years ago. Since then, I have sought every possible opportunity to visit family in Germany, who consistently contribute to the enjoyment of these excursions. While I mention “dragging them out,” the truth is that we all genuinely relish these outings. The joy of witnessing the excitement on everyone’s faces, engaging in various market activities, and enjoying a warm Glühwein (mulled wine) in a cozy tent is truly fulfilling.
This visit to the family followed the customary tradition of visiting a Christmas market.
We arrived in the evening just as the sun began to set…
The crowds began to gather, and we took a leisurely stroll through the quaint German town…
Before long, the festivities swung into motion… Naturally, my first destination was the candy stalls!
Empowered by a sugar rush, I eagerly explored the various stalls, participating in festive games, discovering new culinary delights, and occasionally pausing for a Glühwein…
Ultimately, feeling delighted yet exhausted, we departed the market and returned home. However, we encountered a performer showcasing impressive skills with… fireballs attached to ropes, which was simply mesmerizing!
As our journey came to a close, I discovered yet another stall while exiting. Without hesitation, I took the opportunity to indulge in even more sweets!
Upon returning home, I felt inspired to attempt creating a similar fire-throwing effect, this time utilizing battery-powered lights instead of actual fire!
Lloyd joined in the excitement as well!
However, I believe my creations were the most impressive!
