Enjoy a Free 5th Night with Hilton, Marriott, and Starwood Rewards

Hilton’s 5th Night Free Program

One of the best deals available for travelers is the 5th night free promo offered by certain hotel loyalty chains. This generous offer enables guests to add an extra night for free when redeeming points for four consecutive nights at a single hotel. Hilton HHonors, Marriott Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest are the three largest programs providing this enticing option. Nonetheless, specific conditions apply, which may limit redemption opportunities slightly. Nevertheless, it remains a fantastic offer for those who can align it with their travel plans. It’s important to note that this promotion is only applicable to award stays; therefore, no discounts are available for paid bookings.

Hilton’s program is the most restrictive since only elite members benefit from this offer. The discount applies to all Silver, Gold, and Diamond elite members, and reservations must be made via HiltonHonors.com, the Hilton Honors App, or through the Hilton Reservations & Customer Care team.

Silver, Gold, and Diamond Elite Members receive every 5th night free when reserving a Standard Room Reward Stay of five nights or more using entirely Points (up to four free nights on a stay of 20 consecutive nights). The point price reflects this by applying a per-night discount equivalent to one free night for every five nights booked.

In instances where the number of Points required per night fluctuates, the value of the free night is calculated based on the average Point cost per night. This average is determined by dividing the total Point cost of all nights by the total number of nights in the stay.

Marriott Rewards

Marriott’s program offers greater flexibility as membership status is not a requirement to earn the 5th night free reward. Similar to Hilton HHonors, eligibility is limited to standard rooms, and guests must possess upgrade awards for each night in an upgraded room type, including the 5th night. This complimentary night benefit also extends to Ritz-Carlton hotel stays when redeeming Marriott Rewards points for five or more consecutive nights.

Starwood Preferred Guest

Starwood’s Preferred Guest program is also very accommodating regarding the 5th night free benefit, allowing any member to take advantage of this offer, irrespective of their status level. In contrast to Hilton and Marriott, classifications for higher-end hotels are necessary, meaning that Category 1 and 2 properties will incur charges for the fifth night. The program covers hotels in Category 3—which charge 7,000 points per night—up to Category 7, which can require as much as 35,000 points per night. Thus, travelers will save a significant number of points on any eligible redemption. The most appealing aspect is the absence of blackout dates for all SPG properties.
