Formula One Stars Share Unique Perspectives Through Photography
Formula One stars, like world champion Lewis Hamilton, are used to posing for photos. However, the annual charity “Zoom” auction, which raises money for a London children’s hospital, gives them the chance to get behind the lens.
Drivers were asked to contribute photos for the charity sale. Hamilton’s notable submission to the 2016 auction for Great Ormond Street features his dog outside the Colosseum, humorously titled “Roscoe does Rome.”
Meanwhile, Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg captured a candid selfie with Valentino Rossi, a multiple MotoGP champion. Rosberg expressed his love for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, stating, “I very much like old-timers. It’s rare to find time to chat in a relaxed atmosphere.”
Red Bull Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo also participated in the event, sharing his passion for adventure through a photo of himself riding bikes in the desert. “I love riding bikes. The speed is fun, but what I really enjoy is the adventure,” he noted.
In another highlight, 2009 world champion Jenson Button described his mountain biking photo taken just before the Melbourne Grand Prix as a glimpse into his outdoor adventures.
Moreover, Red Bull Racing’s Dany Kvyat reflected on one of the best days of his life with a photo from his first F1 podium at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Finally, Toro Rosso racer Carlos Sainz showcased his photo from the Singapore Grand Prix, highlighting the thrill of racing at the start-finish line.
In conclusion, the “Zoom” auction not only showcases the artistic talents of Formula One stars, but it also supports a noble cause, drawing fans closer to their favorite racers in a unique way.
