Our journey began in the evening, marked by a hurried departure to drop off the car at the airport in Pisa. Subsequently, we navigated our travels to Florence using an alternative mode of transport.
This was conducted via a bus. The train service presented certain challenges; while it operates, a transfer to Pisa Centrale is necessary before boarding the train to Florence.
Consequently, traveling by bus was more efficient than opting for the train. Both modes of transport took approximately the same duration, confirming the bus as the more convenient choice.
Upon our arrival in Pisa, we swiftly proceeded to the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni n. 1 hotel.
Upon entering our accommodations, we were mesmerized by the breathtaking view that greeted us from our rooms.
We ascended to the rooftop terrace, where the captivating views provided an ideal backdrop for sunset refreshments.
Following our revelries, we contemplated dinner options; fortunately, the dining culture in Italy allows for late-night meal choices.
Based on the receptionist’s suggestion, we opted for a visit to an establishment known as Bucca Mario.
It is fortunate for Italians to enjoy the experience of multiple courses, which notably excludes starters and desserts.
It is safe to say that I felt decidedly comfortable, given my enthusiasm for cuisine!
Within the abundance of choices available on the menu, I found myself somewhat overwhelmed during the ordering process. I selected pasta, while Lloyd opted for what I believe to be a vegetable stew, although its precise nature remains uncertain.
The freshness of the ingredients was remarkable; the chefs frequently visited to prepare components right before our eyes.
For our main course, we ordered a grand steak!
This was no ordinary steak! It was a substantial cut, and after the pasta, I was understandably surprised when the steak was served, albeit with pleasant astonishment.
The waiter skillfully began to carve the steak at our table, showcasing an impressive technique!
As expected, I was unable to conceal my satisfaction after the initial bite; the steak was enormous. True to my nature, I persisted and finished every morsel—though I did loosen my belt beforehand!
Following an epic showdown with the steak, we initially had ambitions for dessert that evening. However, we were so fully satisfied that we felt as though we could be rolled out of the restaurant like barrels of wine!
The evening concluded at one of the rooftop terraces, which remains open around the clock, allowing us to sip cappuccinos while reveling in the splendid night view of Florence!
