We’ve heard fantastic stories about fat biking but only had a little experience prior, which made this more thrilling. Adventure awaited us, even if the temperature was still -19°C.
Breakfast was a relaxed and indulgent affair, starting with homemade granola, followed by fresh fruit salad, and concluding with the most delicious breakfast sandwich you could imagine. So delicious, in fact, that we joked about getting some mimosas as well!
After brunch, we eagerly hit the trails for fat biking in Edmonton’s picturesque icy terrain. As we started biking, the chill in the air quickly became a distant memory as warmth enveloped us, courtesy of the cycling and the breathtaking winter views.
Cycling to the River Valley, the mesmerizing beauty of snowy landscapes captivated us at every turn. We enjoyed the stunning views but made sure to stay safe as we approached the frozen river. It’s crucial not to venture too close to the edges!
Eventually, we reached the stunning Ice Castles—a place that perfectly encapsulates winter magic. The castles were awe-inspiring, and I couldn’t help but abandon my bike to explore every glacial detail. It was mesmerizing to see the intricate ice formations and to feel the incredible winter atmosphere.
