4. Exploring the City

5. Enjoying High Tea at Nimb

Copenhagen always surprises me; it’s one of those European cities that seems to be constantly changing yet feels familiar and welcoming.

The whole city is a blend of old and new influences, from its rustic Nordic charm and stunning architecture to its flourishing food scene, which has really gained popularity in recent years. During our visit, I was determined to indulge in this vibrant culinary culture.

Our first-ever trip to Copenhagen was filled with delightful surprises and completely made me fall in love with this incredible city; so much so, that I knew we had to return.

After a hurried scramble to pack our bags, we jetted off, and before we knew it, we’d arrived.

We headed directly into the city via the train that runs every 10 minutes from the airport—a fast and efficient option.

Since we had packed more luggage than usual, we decided to go straight to our accommodation for the next two days, The Tivoli Hotel.

I must say, the rooms at the Tivoli Hotel were exquisite; it felt as if some of the magic and creativity of Tivoli Gardens had been brought into the rooms.

Moreover, they featured a robotic toilet, reminiscent of something from Star Trek, equipped with LED lights, a small shower, and even its own dryer! What a fascinating experience!

Upon arriving, we took our seats in the grand hall right next to the roaring fire; yes, it was summer, but I couldn’t resist sitting by a real fireplace, especially since I didn’t have to bring in the firewood as my dad used to make me do growing up!

What I appreciated most about Nimb’s high tea was that each pastry was freshly made to order. Consequently, the delicate sandwiches and homemade scones may take a little longer to arrive, but it’s well worth the wait…

I would like to claim that I enjoyed my high tea with sophistication and grace (like a true gentleman), but the hunger monster inside me kicked into overdrive and I could barely contain myself from devouring all the exquisite pastries (and a cocktail) as soon as they arrived!
