Exploring the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin provides an enriching experience of Irish culture and history.

It had been more than a decade since my last visit to Dublin when we received an invitation to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Guinness Storehouse in Ireland.
While the Guinness brand itself has a rich history, the Storehouse commenced just two decades ago, offering visitors to the emerald isle an opportunity to indulge in one of the country’s most beloved beverages.
During my previous trip, I was accompanied by friends from Finland and Ireland, and given our enjoyable experience, I eagerly anticipated my return to Dublin.
Upon settling into our hotel, we promptly proceeded to the Guinness Storehouse, a venue I consider essential for any visit to Ireland, especially since it culminates with a pint of Guinness complemented by a breathtaking panorama of Dublin.
The tour navigates various rooms and vaults, imparting insights into the brewing process of Guinness and its origins.
This experience was indeed reminiscent of my previous visit, though I anticipated this time would prove to be distinctly different (unbeknownst to me at that moment).
As we traversed through the Storehouse, one notable observation was the stark difference in appearance compared to my previous visit.
While it had been over ten years, my recollection of certain aspects may have been unclear; yet, it was evident that numerous new features had been added since my last experience.
This assumption was validated when I inquired with one of the staff members who confirmed that they continuously strive to enhance the Storehouse to engage both returning visitors and newcomers.
A prime illustration of a new feature introduced since my last visit was The Tasting Rooms.
Entering the tasting rooms was akin to entering Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Additionally, the chance to taste something was particularly appealing, as I had omitted breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by my hunger upon seeing the sign.
Unfortunately, the tasting rooms did not provide any food; however, the captivating and intriguing aromas emerging from the modern steam pods made up for this shortfall.
We gathered around each steam pod, engaged in a guessing game, attempting to identify the various aromas present. (Although the answers were available, we made our best efforts to avoid cheating…)
My stay was all the more enjoyable as I had the opportunity to indulge in tastings of Guinness. Thus commenced a delightful afternoon of sampling!
Upon exiting The Tasting Rooms, I felt somewhat fulfilled, though briefly, just enough to momentarily distract me from the growling in my stomach.
Proceeding onward, we made our way to my favored aspect of the Storehouse – the advertising floor! The sight of these advertisements always evokes nostalgia and it was delightful to witness that it retained its allure.
A memorable feature was even the rather intimidating character attempting to convince me to opt for a notably oversized pint!
Even Lloyd appeared captivated by the luminous displays.
As we entered what resembled a small pub within the Storehouse, the moment of revelation arrived.
We were to enjoy our lunch here (an exhilarating prospect!) accompanied by Guinness, and I was quite enthusiastic about it.
We promptly settled into our seats at The Connoisseur Bar…
…adorned with portraits of Arthur Guinness and other historical figures associated with the storehouse’s legacy.
I must admit, I did not take the time to explore who the other individuals depicted were; there was indeed a meal awaiting us.
Swiftly, I reviewed the menu and was satisfied with the offerings, preparing myself for a delightful series of delectable courses…
…accompanied by various types of Guinness that I had not encountered prior.
The pints of Guinness were delightful and went down with ease.
Being known for enjoying a pint or two, particularly during social outings, I felt quite at home.
Finally, the first course of our meal began to arrive…
The dish consisted of crispy Irish baby gem leaves, shredded mangetout, cucumber, radish, and orange served alongside seared duck breast – perfectly paired with the Dublin Porter.
At this juncture, I realized I had an excessive number of photos to incorporate into a single post, leading me to conclude that it would be more prudent to continue this narrative in a subsequent post linked below.
