The Wolas Villa & Spa, Seminyak

Address: Jalan Yudistira No.18, Seminyak (location map)

Day 1: Upon our arrival, my partner and I received a warm reception from the attentive staff, along with a refreshing coconut and cooling towels. As we were escorted to our villa, the pathways connecting the various accommodations resembled a quaint village adorned with palm trees—my favorite—as well as lush greenery, rendering our initial impression of The Wolas Villas both exotic and enticing. The Balinese-inspired villa featured modern amenities, highlighted by a spacious pool and extensive bathroom, allowing us to immerse ourselves in relaxation from the outset.

We spent the day lounging by the pool and indulged in a quick coffee at Revolver Café in Seminyak before embarking on a brief trip for dinner at Strawberry Fields in Canggu, known for its relaxed ambiance. The extensive menu featured a delightful selection, including traditional Balinese fares that were exceptionally fresh and flavorful!

Day 2: We started our morning with breakfast delivered to our villa, which was remarkable—fresh and delectable, thanks to the diligent staff.

The cleanliness of our room was consistently maintained, and any requests we had were promptly addressed by the responsive staff. The Wolas Villas’ location in Seminyak was superb, only a short ten-minute taxi ride from Seminyak Square, providing access to the finest cafés and restaurants while maintaining a sense of tranquility, free from disruptive noise. Our afternoon at Potato Head Beach Club was particularly enjoyable due to its laid-back atmosphere.

Dash Hotel, Seminyak

Address: Jl. Petitenget No.148, Seminyak (location map)

Day 3: Upon reaching Dash Hotel, we were captivated by its hipster aesthetic and apartment-like ambiance, featuring a striking red pool. The staff exhibited a commendable level of hospitality, making our stay enjoyable. We appreciated the hotel’s prime location in the heart of Seminyak, which granted easy access to numerous shops, restaurants, and beach clubs.

Day 4: We devoted our morning to Mrs Sippy, conveniently located just across from Dash Hotel. Following a delightful shopping experience in Seminyak and a rejuvenating massage, we returned to our stylish room for a leisurely afternoon. The short walk to dinner at Bikini in Seminyak made the experience incredibly convenient. After enjoying a delicious meal complemented by cocktails, we strolled back to Dash, passing several other eateries before retreating to our room for the night, where the warm weather and relaxation proved to be rejuvenating. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, enabling us to enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

Day 5: After breakfast served in the dining area at Dash, we took a cab to Panama Kitchen and Pool in Canggu, located just an eight-minute drive away (as navigating on foot can be quite difficult). We thoroughly enjoyed Panama, which presented a distinct Californian vibe with great music, a pool enveloped by palm trees, and a delightful selection of Mexican tapas. It served as an ideal lunch venue!

Afterward, we crossed the street to explore Finns Beach Club, appreciating its vibrant beach club decor and inviting atmosphere. Finns boasts an infinity pool that overlooks the surfers, making it an ideal spot to relax, dine, socialize, and enjoy the beautiful ocean waves.

As the sun began to set, we opted for a scenic walk along the beach, returning to Seminyak in a glorious 25-minute stroll while observing the sun dip below the horizon. We then made our way back to Seminyak for dinner at Motel Mexicola!

Villa Legian Kriyamaha, Seminyak

Address: Jl. Pandawa No.88, Legian (location map)

Day 6: Villa Legian Kriyamaha offered a splendid layout and exceptional comfort. We enjoyed the convenience of waking up, stepping outside, and diving into the pool before breakfast was served in our private villa. The establishment was modern and impeccably clean. The staff exceeded our expectations with their outstanding service! After savoring our morning at this exquisite villa, we headed to Soulbytes cafe in Seminyak for a delightful lunch, where we ordered a variety of dishes to share, allowing us to sample an array of flavors. Soulbytes is a relatively new café featuring impressive artwork and a well-thought-out design. Following lunch, we caught a cab to Legian for shopping before gradually returning to our private villa for some quality time together. The romantic setting was ideal for couples.

Day 7: On our final day in Bali, after enjoying another delectable breakfast at the villa, we reluctantly packed our belongings and bid farewell to the gracious staff before heading home. We made a brief stop at Nalu Bowls in Seminyak on our way to the airport, completing the perfect conclusion to our trip!

Essential Experiences:
Preferred Dining Establishment:
  • We enjoyed Nalu Bowls in Seminyak, which offered a diverse and refreshing selection.
  • Another highlight was our afternoon at Panama Kitchen and Pool in Canggu, where the tasty Mexican dishes were perfect for sharing, along with cocktails and a dip in the pool!
  • Bikini is a new dining spot, offering delicious food that I highly recommend!
  • Motel Mexicola remains our go-to choice, as we greatly appreciate its vibrant atmosphere and excellent cuisine.
Shopping Locations:
  • Seminyak Square offers great boutique shopping.
  • Legian Street and Garlic Lane are ideal for market experiences and bartering.
Ideal Photo Opportunities:

Villas consistently serve as fantastic backdrops! Beach clubs and aesthetically pleasing restaurants are also excellent choices. Any setting featuring water and palm trees is bound to create striking images.

Pack These Essentials:
  • Aeroguard is essential; Bali mosquitoes can be quite persistent!
  • Bring your camera! There are innumerable marvelous locations for photography, not to mention breathtaking sunsets!
  • Bali Body oil! I favor the watermelon variant, which provides the perfect tan—don’t forget sunscreen for your face!
Reasons for Return:

Bali is a favored destination for us, only a short flight from Melbourne. We can always anticipate a wonderful experience, complete with superb accommodations, delightful dining options, and exceptional weather! The warmth and hospitality of the Balinese populace adds to the allure, making it an immensely relaxing getaway. Ultimately, what more could one desire? We will undoubtedly return before long!
