After spending a few relaxing days in Niagara-on-the-Lake, we returned to Toronto, checking into the Delta Hotel, known for its spectacular views over the city.
The Delta is conveniently located next to CN Tower. If you get a chance, consider accessing the Executive Lounge upstairs for complimentary drinks, snacks, and canapés, as well as breathtaking sunrise views!
No matter the floor, you’ll have access to refreshments throughout your stay, plus a designated dining area that offers incredible city views during breakfast.
Members of the hotel can enjoy exclusive privileges, including private areas for breakfast that overlook the city, ensuring that you don’t miss the stunning Toronto sunsets!
After settling in, we ventured to the Art Gallery of Ontario, home to stunning artwork including pieces by Yayoi Kusama, whose works may be familiar to you.
Even though the main exhibition I was eager to see was not open to the public yet, we experienced a variety of remarkable pieces from other talented artists.
After enjoying the masterpieces at the gallery, we made our way to the vibrant Kensington Market, a neighborhood that offers a unique blend of grunge and hippy vibes, reminiscent of London’s Shoreditch.
The market is filled with eclectic shops, street art, and food stalls, making it a fantastic place to explore and take in the local culture.
After roaming the market, we took a taxi back to the Delta Hotel to enjoy the sunset with a cocktail in hand—a perfect way to end the day!
Our day culminated with dinner at a fascinating restaurant, Figures. It initially appears to be a comic book store, but upon entering, you discover an incredible dining experience awaits, featuring a range of flamboyant cocktails and diverse culinary delights.
With a delightful assortment of starters and mains—including oxtail pancakes and chicken drummettes—we savored every bite.
To satisfy our sweet tooth, we chose dessert from their enticing menu—a trio of exquisite doughnuts that were nothing short of divine.
Overall, our 24 hours in Toronto left a significant impression on us, highlighting the city’s charm and vibrant culture. The combination of art, food, and breathtaking views makes this destination unforgettable.
As we looked out over the city from our hotel room at the Delta, I couldn’t help but feel that Toronto truly resembles our home city of London in many wonderful ways, making it easy to connect with.
Toronto has undoubtedly found a place in my heart. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this captivating city!
