SRI PANWA
I had heard positive remarks regarding Sri Panwa, but I was entirely unprepared for the experience that awaited us. Perched atop an oceanfront hill, every aspect of the resort appeared to be meticulously designed and maintained. The architecture, landscaping, dining options, swimming pools, along with the culinary offerings and service were all of the highest caliber.
We resided in an exceptionally luxurious one-bedroom penthouse suite, newly completed just one year prior, and it was flawless. The expansive ceilings imparted a sense of grandeur, complemented by a cozy living area featuring a sizable sofa that transitions into the bedroom with a large inviting bed oriented towards a stunning ocean view, accompanied by a private saltwater infinity pool. Each suite is equipped with one. The bathroom was generously proportioned, comparable to a standard room, equipped with dual sinks, a bathtub that I thoroughly enjoyed, a closet and changing area, a water closet, and an expansive walk-in shower.
Upon entering our room, we were reluctant to depart; however, we eventually explored the resort and were immediately captivated by our discoveries. We visited the central gathering and dining venue known as Baba Beach Club. The vistas from this location are truly remarkable, featuring numerous seating areas, accompanied by infinity pools that lead to breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea, with numerous islands adorning the horizon. These views, while spectacular, were rivaled only by those at Baba Nest, renowned as one of the Top 3 Beach Bars Worldwide, and it was easy to understand why. The 360-degree panoramic views of the ocean and sky, displaying an array of blues, resembled a masterpiece, and the memories created there will continue to evoke smiles and dreams in years to come.
Next, we explored The Habita, which features the main pool along with several restaurants. This area exuded pristine beauty. The expansive pool offers multiple sections, including two distinct levels with cascading waterfalls. It was effortless to find a private spot to enjoy the idyllic surroundings, and the live acoustic music as dusk approached further enhanced the enchanting atmosphere.
It is genuinely challenging to articulate the level of enjoyment we experienced at Sri Panwa. It undoubtedly ranks among the most exquisite resorts where I have had the pleasure of staying, and the feelings associated with being there, along with the unforgettable memories created, are indelibly etched in my mind. I aspire to experience this exceptional destination once more in the near future.
CAPE KUDU
We were in pursuit of a secluded, tranquil, yet upscale and luxurious resort off the mainstream path, and that is precisely what we uncovered at Cape Kudu on Koh Yao Noi. A thirty-minute boat ride from Phuket led us to a small island, where we were greeted with smiles and a charming vintage Porsche provided by the hotel to transport us to the resort in a mere ten minutes. Koh Yao Noi is a compact island, easily traversed in under thirty minutes. Cape Kudu is positioned at a vantage point offering spectacular ocean views with over twenty small islands dotting the horizon. While the images online were captivating, they paled in comparison to the direct experience of witnessing such an extraordinary and unforgettable panorama.
The hotel itself is only a year old, and every aspect of it was exceptional. The aesthetic of the hotel evoked a Hamptons-like ambiance, characterized by a predominantly white design with refined interiors, architecture, and layout. The staff exemplified friendliness and hospitality, graciously attending to our needs throughout our entire stay. The accommodations comprise several rooms within a larger building atop the property, while our villa was positioned closer to the ocean, offering a delightful view and easy access to the amenities. Our villa constituted a charming space with a comfortable bed (complete with mosquito netting), a quaint living room, a well-appointed bathroom, and our private swimming pool, which we utilized frequently.
Beyond enjoying the beautiful pool with its picturesque views, we arranged an excursion to explore the neighboring islands we had admired since our arrival at the hotel. The resort facilitated a reasonably priced private longtail boat for a five-hour exploration, during which we visited multiple islands, stopping at four to discover their unspoiled beaches, coves, and lagoons. This unforgettable journey through these spectacular islands, characterized by their towering rock cliffs and aquamarine waters, provided us with some of the most cherished photographs imaginable.
Our stay at Cape Kudu, albeit brief, was immensely memorable and rejuvenating. The serene ambiance, combined with the excellent accommodations and attentive staff, categorically positions this resort as a must-visit, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to experience it once more in the future.
