Makarska is a charming coastal city in Croatia, situated close to Split, which is rapidly emerging as a favored holiday destination in the region. My recent visit elucidated why it is gaining such popularity.
The day commenced with a rather overcast sky, however, the city’s inherent charm remained captivating.
As we commenced our beach stroll with our guide, sunlight gradually began to break through, illuminating the surroundings beautifully. Consequently, I promptly discarded the ill-suited sweater I had invalidly included in my luggage post-breakfast.
The city’s backdrop features the stunning Biokovo mountains, creating a picturesque setting.
Our expedition took us into the mountains as well, where the weather drastically differed from that of the city below. The contrast was striking yet undeniably beautiful, making for some exquisite photographs!
The beach transitioned into rugged landscapes leading us through wooded areas and historical edifices…
We immersed ourselves in the scenery, capturing numerous photographs throughout our venture, eventually reaching the harbor’s other side, which presented a captivating view of the city!
Culminating our explorations, we navigated the harbor and strolled through hidden alleyways, where we were delighted to encounter charming young canines. (Seriously, how adorable are these puppies?)
In summary, this backdrop of stunning landscapes and warm hospitality has cemented Makarska as an exceptional destination, radiating allure and inviting exploration.
