Continuing our Nordic expedition, we arrived in Gothenburg, located in Sweden, noted for its picturesque scenery and renowned hospitality.
This is a playful stereotype about Swedish culture, but indeed, the ice and stunning people made the claim seem quite legitimate.
After an early and invigorating flight, we settled into our hotel and quickly indulged in a short rest. The remarkably low flight fare of £8 from London made the early hour seem trivial.
These economical flights were discovered through Skyscanner, with credit primarily going to Lloyd for pinpointing the deal.
Revitalized from our nap, we ventured into the heart of Gothenburg to discover its charm.
Did I mention the significant presence of ice?
We wandered leisurely around the harbor, enjoying the surroundings.
Following this, we decided to explore the city center.
Next, we made our way to the park for an enjoyable game of pretend hide and seek.
After some time, we felt the need for nourishment and warmth.
After satisfying our appetite and warming up, we braved the cold once again.
Following a fulfilling day exploring Gothenburg, we returned to our accommodation to prepare for an evening out. However, the allure of the swings caught my attention!
Once we left the hotel, we embarked on a night of exploration. A curious question posed to me by a stranger was:
“You traveled from London to Gothenburg… why is that?”
An easy response; it is one of the most relaxed European cities I have encountered, filled with amiable individuals, though the cold can be quite prominent.
