The motivation for this post originated from my attempt to play a word association game with Lloyd during dinner in Lille, which led to some perplexed glances from him as he focused on his camembert!
*Noteworthy Comment – I sampled the camembert and must confess that I completely understand its appeal; I would have likewise been distracted had I ordered it for my meal!
Instead of engaging in the game alone, I believed it would be enjoyable to gather your contributions! The game is relatively straightforward – we possess a list of 10 European nations, and you simply need to articulate the initial word that arises in your thoughts when considering each country. Provided that it is not offensive, any word is acceptable! For example, if I mention “France,” you might respond with “Fashion” … you grasp my intention!
The 10 nations are – France, The UK, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Austria, Norway, Italy, and Belgium.
To initiate the discussion, here are my responses for the 10 countries along with my associations!
1.) France – Fashion
2.) The UK – Rain
3.) Spain – Food
4.) Portugal – Wine
5.) Greece – Sunshine
6.) Germany – Grunge (attributable to Berlin; prior to this, I would have associated it with Christmas)
7.) Austria – Skiing
8.) Norway – Fjord
9.) Italy – Pasta
10.) Switzerland – Chocolates
Upon reflecting on my list, I recognize a trend; the focus on food and wine appears perhaps more pronounced than I care to acknowledge publicly! 🙂
