Summary
Well, I was unaware until just before our departure to Gdansk!
Sopot is an enchanting seaside destination located approximately 20 to 30 minutes away by car from Gdansk. It is also reachable by train; however, the taxi fares are sufficiently reasonable, especially when shared among a group, as we did with four individuals.
We arrived in Sopot on a sunny yet overcast afternoon. This unique weather combination provided quite a dramatic atmosphere.
We proceeded directly to the shore.
The experience prompted a desire for our visit to have occurred a few months earlier during the summer season to fully enjoy the seaside ambiance.
The weather certainly adds to the dramatic allure of the area.
We leisurely walked along the pier without any specific intention other than to explore as much of Sopot as possible.
According to one of our friends who has visited Sopot multiple times, the hotel below is regarded as the premier accommodation option.
Lloyd and Georgia ventured to find souvenirs, while Chris and I embarked on a quest for ice cream. Acquiring ice cream by the seaside is essential, in my opinion.
We departed the pier and ventured into the town, aiming to locate one of Sopot’s iconic structures, Krzywy Domek (also recognized as The Crooked House)…
… it is apparent why!
We opted to rest our tired feet at a quaint café named Dwie Zmiany…
… which serves as an eclectic and delightful stop when visiting Sopot!
Before long, it became evident that it was time to head back to Gdansk, feeling re-caffeinated and revitalized by the refreshing sea breeze! 🙂
