Driving Directions
The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is easily accessible by car from virtually any direction. The facility is located at 415 Summer Street in the newly redeveloped Seaport District.
- From Logan Airport (or Route 1A South), take I-90 West through the Ted Williams Tunnel to exit 25 (marked “South Boston”). At the top of the ramp, turn right onto Congress Street, then take the next right onto “D” Street. Shortly after the ramp, take another right onto Summer Street.
- If coming from the West, take I-90 East to Exit 25 (marked “South Boston”). Turn right onto Congress Street, right onto “D” Street, and then right onto Summer Street.
- For travelers coming from the East, take I-90 to I-93 South, exit 18. At the second traffic light (marked “South Boston Bypass Road”), turn left and follow it for about one mile. Turn right onto Cypher Street and left onto West Side Drive.
- Travelers from the North can take I-93 South to Exit 20A (marked “South Station”). At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Summer Street and follow it for about one mile.
- From the South, use I-93 North to Exit 20 (marked “South Boston”) and follow signs for I-90 East. Take the first tunnel exit (marked “South Boston”). At the first set of lights, turn right onto Congress Street, then take the second right onto “D” Street. After the ramp, turn right onto Summer.
Public Transportation
The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is conveniently located near several public transportation options.
- From Logan Airport, take the Silver Line SL1 Bus and exit at the World Trade Center Stop. Use the elevator to level 2, turn left, and the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center will be in front of you.
- From Amtrak and Commuter Rail, guests can disembark at the South Station stop and walk to Summer Street. Turn right and either take a taxi or walk (approximately one mile to the convention center).
- Using Boston’s subway/T, you can take the MBTA Red Line, exit at South Station, and either walk (as per the previous directions) or take the Silver Line SL1, SL2, or SL3 to the World Trade Center stop.
- Additionally, the center is accessible via city bus. Take the inbound #7 bus (City Point to South Station) and exit at 415 Summer Street. For outbound trips from South Station, get off at 425 Summer Street, turn right, and walk half a block.
Interestingly, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is also reachable by boat. City Water Taxi service operates between Lovejoy Wharf at North Station and the World Trade Center, which is about a ten-minute walk away.
Parking
Valet parking is the preferred option for guests visiting the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Valet service is typically available during most events for $25. To access the valet area, turn from Summer Street onto East Side Drive; it will be on your right and accepts both cash and credit cards.
For those seeking self-parking, it is available for $12. To do so, continue past the valet area along the building’s side, make a right at the end to go down a ramp, and turn left at the bottom; the entrance to the South Parking lot will be directly in front of you.
In the event of a particularly large gathering, parking garages may reach capacity. In such cases, additional parking can be found at the Boston Marine Industrial Park or at private lots along the waterfront.
Limited meter parking also exists around the Boston Convention Center for those who prefer short-term options.
