Upon discovering Sa Brisa in Ibiza (or was it when I first glimpsed images of it…?),
I knew I had to visit during my time at Giri for my birthday. Despite my relaxed demeanor that day, I found the motivation to make a reservation for the subsequent evening at Sa Brisa.
(Truth be told, securing a reservation here is quite straightforward – a simple phone call will suffice, but one could argue that my birthday lethargy had reached new heights… 🙂 ).
The following morning was predominately spent lounging by the pool…
…and uncovering the charming town of San Joan. (Seriously, it consists of just four or five streets, embodying some of the most serene and relaxed areas of Ibiza).
(Notice how the pharmacy above boasts a margarita sign? Quite curious…)
Ultimately, it was time to bid Giri Residence adieu as I set out to discover beaches across the islands…
I must admit, spontaneous adventures such as these rank among my favorites, especially with sunny weather! The freedom of having no fixed plans is something I cherish and strive to maximize. Should we stumble upon a place we like along the route, we pause to enjoy it; conversely, if not, we continue onward – after all, that’s what vacations should entail: doing precisely what you desire. 🙂
It is essential to mention that this experience further underscored for us the multiple reasons to visit Ibiza (both in and out of the season); it is an undeniably stunning island!
Our exploration of curvy, rural roads eventually led us to Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, centrally located within the island and frequently overlooked by the revelers. We opted to linger here for our lunch.
Now, to the main venue I wish to highlight – Sa Brisa!
Despite my anticipation, we ultimately arrived about half an hour late. It turns out that locating a parking spot in the old town of Ibiza, where the restaurant resides, presents quite a challenge. We circled the area for nearly 20 continuous minutes before we could successfully park (this may also relate to my desire to avoid long walks in skinny jeans, which, while fashionable, are not the most comfortable for extended strolls… #ChubRub).
We opted for a late reservation (I prefer not to dine too early while traveling; I often find that doing so requires me to eat twice). By the time we got settled in, the restaurant was fairly empty, which was perhaps also influenced by our visit during the off-peak season.
