Following an invigorating hike, few pleasures compare to savoring a cold beer and exploring diverse dining options. New Hope, Pennsylvania, is a standout locale, offering a vibrant atmosphere where individuals from varied backgrounds converge along the main street. From the lively ambiance at Havana to enjoying wine on tap at Nektar, New Hope presents a remarkable culinary landscape. Below are my top recommendations for the finest dining experiences in this charming town.

Restaurants with Exceptional Cuisine

Havana

Best restaurants near me
This restaurant is perhaps my personal favorite among the selections. Its vibrant atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for enjoying beers and classic pub fare while observing the lively scene outdoors. Havana offers standard pub fare, but their burgers are highly regarded, accompanied by award-winning chili. For a delightful experience, I recommend the nachos topped with chili, omitting the cheese, as the queso can overshadow the rich flavor of the chili. With a wide selection of craft beers on tap, patrons can enjoy complimentary entry to live performances when visiting on weekends. The intimate venue often features notable artists, such as Rusted Root. For the latest entertainment schedule, visit their event page.

Nektar

Nektar, a newer addition to the dining scene, excels in offering tapas and an innovative wine-on-tap experience. I had the pleasure of dining there shortly after its opening, securing a table by the water. The ambiance is relaxed and cozy, though its rising popularity now necessitates reservations for prime seating.
However, the exceptional food and the option for a wine sampler make it a suitable choice for a lighter, delightful experience.

The Landing Restaurant

This restaurant has consistently been on my list to visit during my trips to New Hope. However, it took a while to finally dine there. It boasts a prime location along the Delaware River, with stunning views overlooking the bridge connecting Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the charming towns of New Hope and Lambertville.
Views of the Delaware River
Despite the darkness during my visit, I was still satisfied with the menu selection, even using my phone to assist with reading options. The jambalaya I ordered was superb, rivaling any I’ve had in New Orleans. This is a restaurant I intend to revisit—perhaps at an earlier hour for a more complete experience.

Karla’s Restaurant

This delightful establishment feels like dining inside a whimsical fairytale cottage, with its charming green walls and unique mushroom-like design. The atmosphere is inviting, and the culinary offerings enhance the experience. I highly recommend the short rib risotto, which was simply outstanding. The seating arrangement, particularly by the open window, allows for excellent people-watching while enjoying mouthwatering dishes.

Logan Inn

As the oldest continuously operating inn since its establishment by New Hope’s founder, John Wells, in 1722, Logan Inn holds a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The menu features somewhat upscale options, ideal for special occasions. Conveniently located on the main street, the inn offers a patio that provides a sense of privacy amidst the bustling activity surrounding it. Though the portions may not be overwhelmingly large, the flavor is commendable, particularly their octopus dish—a consistently delightful choice in any dining experience.

The Salthouse Restaurant

Ideal for both vegetarians and vegans, this restaurant showcases a diverse menu that caters to various palates. Its BYOB policy allows guests to bring a favorite bottle of wine, enhancing the dining experience. We enjoyed our meal upstairs, practically having the space to ourselves. The healthy and varied options offered here ensured a satisfying dining experience.

Best Places for Beer

Great Barn Farm to Glass Taproom

This brewpub has garnered a local following over the past few years. With all beers sourced from a nearby brewery and a rotating selection, patrons can enjoy unique craft options, including a standout porter. Guests can choose to relax at the bar or outside, soaking in the view of the flowing stream below.
This location is conveniently situated next to Nektar, making it an ideal pitstop while waiting for a table at the latter.

Triumph Brewery

With locations in both New Hope and Princeton, Triumph Brewery presents excellent beer selections that vary with the seasons. The New Hope location features a welcoming patio adjacent to the steam train station, offering ample room for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts alike to unwind. Guests can also enjoy the indoor bar atmosphere, particularly during live music performances or when seeking a casual game of pool. Although the food is typical bar fare, I particularly recommend their amber ale and the citrusy zitronweizen.

Concluding Thoughts

New Hope’s culinary scene is ever-evolving, with new restaurants and shops frequently emerging. While some establishments may close unexpectedly, exciting new ventures spring up in their place. Thus, it is beneficial to revisit the area often, as the food and beverage offerings continuously improve, catering to the inner foodie in all of us.
