I believe I have developed an appreciation! 😄 Europe is home to many magnificent locations, yet there are instances when certain places exceed one’s expectations entirely. Recently, for me, that exceptional place was Bavaria in Germany.
This region of Germany is renowned for its majestic castles and, of course, the Alps. However, as we visited during the summer months and given my enthusiasm for royal architecture, my primary focus was the numerous palaces and castles situated within Bavaria—most notably, the fairytale-like Neuschwanstein Castle, which, ironically, happens to be the only castle whose name I am capable of both spelling and pronouncing accurately.
Seriously, for those with an affinity for castles, this region is a must-visit (the reasons will become evident as the article unfolds). However, what contributed to my profound admiration for this area of Germany—beyond the impressive castles that surpassed my expectations—was the breathtaking natural landscape that complemented it.
I recognize that my visit was not solely intended for experiencing the Alps; however, they are remarkably stunning during the summer season. Additionally, there are pristine turquoise lakes, thriving forests, and cabins that seemingly belong in a fairy tale. Truly, this destination offers moments of awe.
Nonetheless, I wished to take a moment to share several photographs from our experiences in Bavaria, illustrating precisely what makes this place noteworthy (some may have already seen a few through our Instagram or perhaps even just in our stories). I possess a plethora of additional images (and recommendations) from our visit, which I will be presenting shortly. For now, here’s a collection showcasing our time in Bavaria.
