Discover the Cultural Gems of Bali: Ubud Palace, Uluwatu Temple, and Tanah Lot

On our second to last day in Bali, we aimed to experience several iconic locations that, despite their notoriety, had eluded us in our previous visits.

1. Exploring Ubud Palace

Unfortunately, the Palace was largely closed for renovations, limiting what we were able to witness.

Despite the limited access, the elements that were open were architecturally impressive and offered a glimpse of the grandeur this Palace once possessed.

2. Visiting Saraswati Temple

Next, we proceeded to the nearby Saraswati Temple in Ubud, located in an unsuspecting area that we initially overlooked.

Situated right beside a Starbucks, the Temple is accessed through unassuming gates leading to a charming restaurant and café.

With helpful directions from Google Maps, we navigated past a few obstacles, including an unexpected encounter with a local dog, before reaching Saraswati Temple.

This Temple is distinctive compared to others we had visited, making it worthwhile to stop by during your stay in Bali. A refreshing beverage at the restaurant, while enjoying the serene views, provides a perfect excuse to relax.

3. A Glimpse of Uluwatu Temple

We next ventured to Uluwatu Temple, a renowned sea temple positioned atop a cliff, offering breathtaking views of the ocean below. It is essential to exercise caution as the local monkeys can be mischievous.

While the temple itself is relatively small and restricted in access, the stunning vistas make it worth the visit.

4. The Beauty of Tanah Lot

We proceeded to Tanah Lot, famously known for its dramatic rock formation and temple. The ambiance here is enhanced by spectacular sunsets, providing a fitting conclusion to our day in Bali.

As the sun was setting, we experienced a vibrant display of colors, concluding our journey with a visual feast of pinks and blues against the backdrop of the ocean.

This trip to Bali exceeded my expectations; we encountered remarkable sights, enjoyed delectable food, swam in waterfalls, and reveled in the sun at the beach. Such experiences compel a return visit to relive the adventure.
