On our third morning in Croatia, we promptly opted for breakfast, driven primarily by my choice to prioritize additional sleep over a leisurely meal. However, the only drawback of this decision was my determination to consume as much food during breakfast as if I had a full hour. This led to a rapid pace of eating designed for efficiency rather than elegance, achieving the main objective of breakfast.
Once we finished eating, we were met by the Dalmatia Explorer for a tour of the countryside in a 4×4 vehicle.
Full of anticipation, we eagerly boarded the vehicle and were off!
We initiated our exploration amidst the serene lakes of Dalmatia…
We then transitioned to the hills and mountains to capture an improved view of the stunning countryside…
The sun began to rise at this time…
Continuing our journey, we took in the views of quaint villages, the Cetina River, and the rugged Croatian landscape.
We subsequently halted at one of the most remarkable locations we had encountered on our journey thus far—the source of the Cetina River. This source is a spring located deep within the mountains, and despite various diving attempts to trace its origins, the exact point remains elusive as the water continues long beyond diving capabilities.
The source’s water is exceptionally pure, with bottled water being sourced directly from this spring.
Next, we stopped at a charming country home renowned for its wine. The proprietor cultivates her own grapes and produces exquisite wines.
Our traditional pre-lunch beverages included an array of delightful options…
We embraced the chance to sip on a drink or two…
Upon reflection, we were lucky to experience an authentic slice of Croatian culture that we would have otherwise overlooked had we only lingered in the city. The diverse landscapes across the country are truly stunning and are worth witnessing, particularly with the guidance of a local expert. Overall, the opportunity to appreciate the extensive beauty of the Croatian countryside was a noteworthy highlight of our visit.
We found ourselves back at the lake again, where we began snapping numerous photos for our social media profiles.
