Elegant Weddings at Masseria Moroseta: A Stunning Venue

Wedding at Masseria Moroseta

Surrounded by a centuries-old olive grove that has witnessed numerous love stories, radiant bride Assem united with her partner Bruno in a custom-made voluminous gown crafted from exquisite Italian silk during their idyllic ceremony at Masseria Moroseta. Encircled by cacti and stunning whitewashed walls, every aspect of this occasion was elevated by the scenic backdrop.

Elegant yet simple tablescapes adorned with flowing white linens and ambient candles were artfully arranged in the masseria’s limestone courtyard. The local DJ later invigorated the celebration, as clusters of candles illuminated the starlit Apulian night sky.

The Venue.

The historic Masseria Moroseta has undergone a transformative redesign by visionary designer, architect, and magazine editor Andrew Trotter. He focused on the primary components—white tufo stone, a harmonious integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, and ample communal areas—revitalizing the estate. The juxtaposition of local cacti against the striking white walls provides an aesthetically pleasing contrast, while the incorporation of curved lines and oversized windows imparts a modern essence to the rural setting. The recently refurbished farmhouse, employing local materials along with a modern architectural approach, creates an ideal blend of contemporary chic and historical elegance, making Assem and Bruno’s celebration at Masseria Moroseta both stylish and refined.

The Styling.

Rustic minimalism characterized the atmosphere of the day. The décor at this celebration at Masseria Moroseta paid homage to Apulian traditions, incorporating folk-inspired elements with a touch of contemporary sophistication. Billowing linen, aromatic lavender, barley, and baby’s breath were beautifully interspersed throughout the venue, establishing a tone that was both chic and relaxed.

The Photography.

The exceptionally talented Monica Leggio artfully captured the essence of Assem and Bruno’s wedding at Masseria Moroseta, encapsulating the spirit of the locale while producing warm and evocative imagery.

The Planner.

Renowned local wedding planner Flavia Robbe exemplifies the highest standards and expertly orchestrated the entire event.

The Dress.

Assem, who serves as a fashion buyer for her mother’s multi-brand store in Lugano, Switzerland, selected a gown that was both stylish and sophisticated.

La Nuova Sartoria in Lugano crafted a stunning custom gown, created from the finest satin silk sourced from Taroni, a silk manufacturer situated in Como since 1880. This collaboration resulted in a dress that exuded romance and elegance. The off-the-shoulder design introduced an element of allure, while the voluminous sleeves and skirt added a touch of haute couture.

The bride’s ‘something blue’ was represented by a pair of baroque turquoise Celine earrings adorned with gold accents and cultured pearls.

The Bridesmaids.

Each bridesmaid donned a distinct style, all while maintaining a white color palette that beautifully complemented the venue.

The Groom and Groomsmen.

Bruno presented an elegant appearance in a tailored grey suit made from Ermenegildo Zegna fabric, complemented by a matching grey Hermès tie and a unique pair of cufflinks from Bucherer engraved with ‘Assy’ and ‘Bruno’. Classic shoes from Church’s rounded out his ensemble.

In contrast, the groomsmen wore coordinated blue suits and matching blue Hermès ties.

The Rings.

For Assem’s engagement ring, Bruno selected a timeless custom pink gold solitaire band adorned with a brown diamond from the jewellery boutique Rondina in Lugano. Assem’s mother was instrumental in assisting Bruno with the design, adding a personal touch to the ring.

The Favours.

Customized travel-sized bottles of organic olive oil, sourced from Masseria Moroseta, were thoughtfully prepared for their guests with the assistance of Carlo, the masseria’s proprietor.

The Ceremony.

The couple exchanged vows outdoors among 32 loved ones, surrounded by centennial olive trees. The ceremony at Masseria Moroseta was kept simple, allowing the natural beauty of the location to shine through. Cascading white fabric adorned the olive trees, imparting a romantic quality while remaining consistent with the overall aesthetics of simplicity.

The Reception.

Drawing inspiration from Apulian traditions, bale benches were utilized for aperitivo décor, replicating the ambiance of an Italian village market, with stalls offering freshly prepared local mozzarella and seafood for their guests.

The minimalist white courtyard of Masseria Moroseta featured a simple white tablescape adorned with dried fruits, figs, grapes, and protea flowers in brass bowls. An array of layered candles contained in brass and concrete holders imparted a romantic atmosphere to the celebration. The fresh and effortless details, combined with the classic whitewashed surroundings, culminated in an elegant reception, embodying the principle that less is more.
